Avaritia stands aloft. Spreads his thick arms. Cash rains onto the partygoers. They slurp the pools of green off his marble floor and out of his champagne fountain.
Across the crumbling city an IRS agent salivates as a judge signs his warrant.
For some reason I couldn’t help but to think of Jack Nicholson’s version of the joker in one of the batman movies! But then the IRS part changed it. 🙂 This was a super compelling story in such a short amount of words!
Uh oh. The tax man is coming! I so super love this entry!

Haha. Thank you. I don’t know if IRS agents salivate, but it made me laugh to think they do.

If this gargleblaster were made into movie, I hope Martin Scorsese directs it.

Good directing choice. I’d cast Bradley Cooper as the IRS agent and Joel Edgerton as the cocky prize fighter.

I was looking for someone who didn’t use ‘rain’ literally. Good one.

A well told cautionary tale. Karma is a bit evil.

Thanks, Nate. The story doesn’t hinge on it, but I like little details like that.

slurping pools of green is so vivid! I have an image of Avaritia as somewhere between Al Capone and Hulk. Excellent use of all shades of green.

Avaritia – nice. As others have said, you tell a full, compelling story in this little micro story. Amazingly well done!
